To combine my two passions, Computer Science and Games Art, into a day job. Furthering and sharing my skills with other artists in a dedicated and passionate environment.
Around the time I finished school, it became evident that I had to choose between my two passions: Programming and art. Most university courses offering a mix of both seemed to offer none of them on a satisfyingly high level. Rather spending twice the time learning my profession properly than sloppily, I enrolled to a Computer Science course in at the University of Applied Sciences of Trier. After graduating, I enrolled at the University of Teesside on the Computer Games Art course, giving me time and training to further my skills in the fields of 2d art and 3d modeling.
Even though I focus more on art than on coding nowadays, taking two courses instead of one has been a great choice. The ability to see problems from both sides (artist and programmer), the quick understanding of technical limitations and ways to cope with them, and last but not least the benefit of being able to use skill sets from one field in the other have shown that the decision to take two courses instead of one has given me a lot more than the sum of both.
Having finished my second university course a few weeks ago, I am currently living back in Trier, Germany, expanding my portfolio, waiting for my final marks to come in and looking for a job at a games company.
